Let an assistant edit your Toads videos.

Tell it what to change. Toads edits the video on your Mac. You approve the project and the export folder.

MCP is included with direct purchases. Mac App Store downloads do not include it.

What it can do

Toads edits on your Mac. You choose what an assistant can see and change.

Read a project

Read the transcript. See frames, the timeline and the waveform.

Clean up speech

Cut filler words and long pauses. Fix transcript words.

Edit clips

Split, trim, reorder and speed clips. Add video and zooms.

Change the look

Change the layout, camera, cursor and background.

Add text and images

Add titles, stickers, images and GIFs. Move or style them.

Add audio

Add music and sound effects. Change volume and timing.

Add captions

Make captions on your Mac. Save SRT or WebVTT.

Export a video

Save MP4, MOV or GIF in an approved folder.

Control access

Approve a project or folder. Disconnect at any time.

Find files

Read approved files. Relink missing media.

Ask for a finished video

“Cut the pauses. Add captions. Zoom in on the demo. Export an MP4.”
  1. 1. Give access.

Approve the assistant, project and export folder in Toads.

  2. 2. Review the edit.

The assistant reads the project. Toads makes each edit. You can undo it.

  3. 3. Get the file.

Toads saves the video in the folder you chose. It does not publish the file.

Toads also gives assistants five ready-made requests. They cover editing, review, titles, recording and the Toads guide.

Connect your assistant

  • Claude Desktop

Choose Add to Claude in Toads Settings.

  • Claude Code

    Choose Connect in Toads Settings.

  • Other MCP apps

Choose Copy Settings. Paste them into your MCP app. Individual apps need their own test.

MCP requires a direct Toads download, an active license and macOS 15 or later.

You control access

Approve each assistant and project in Toads. Choose which folders it can read or use for exports. Remove access at any time.

Toads keeps your original recordings on your Mac. Exports never replace an existing file. Toads does not send your projects to us.

Your assistant can send what it reads to its AI provider. This can include transcript text, frames, file names and notes. Check that app’s privacy terms.

Recording needs separate access. Toads shows a countdown and a red recording bar. You can stop the take.

Formats and limits

  • Export MP4, MOV or GIF at up to 4K and 60 frames per second.
  • Save captions as SRT or WebVTT. On-device captions support 30 languages and regional variants.
  • Automatic captions need macOS 26 or later and Apple Speech assets.
  • One batch holds up to 25 edits. An assistant can record for up to 60 minutes.
  • Images and GIFs added as overlays are limited to 64 MB each.
  • Toads edits and exports files. It does not upload or publish them.
